How Ileria’s CPR Feedback Technology Works

The Ileria CPR feedback device is a small, lightweight, and wireless tool, powered by two replaceable AAA batteries that you can find in every single shop. It’s designed to help you perform the vital act of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) as effectively as possible, in accordance with the current guidelines of the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and the American Heart Association (AHA). The device provides real-time feedback on key CPR metrics, including the depth, recoil, and rate of chest compressions, making it user-friendly for anyone, even those without formal CPR training.

1- Getting Started

Your Ileria CPR feedback device will be in your hands soon after activating your subscription plan (normally it will take 3 to 5 business days). Depending on the plan you have chosen, the device will show reports on the app or not.

  • Install the Batteries:  First, open the battery cover and insert the two 1.5V AAA batteries provided in the package. The device is protected against incorrect battery insertion. You can use any brand of 1.5V AAA batteries, but for the longest working hours, we recommend Lithium Primary AAA Batteries.

Starting CPR: After installing the batteries, you can start your training session. Place the device directly on the center of the manikin’s chest. Press the power button to turn it on. The device will now provide real-time feedback on your CPR performance.

2. Using the Device and Understanding Feedback

  • Compression Feedback: The device provides real-time feedback on compression depth and chest recoil. The Target Depth Line on the display will move toward a rectangular target zone to confirm adequate depth. If a compression is too shallow, a yellow arrow will appear, and if it’s too deep, the indicator line will turn red. If you do not release pressure completely, a yellow, upward-pointing arrow will appear.

  • Compression Rate: The Compression Rate Indicator shows if your rate is within the correct range of 100-120 compressions per minute. If your rate is too slow or too fast, the pointer will move outside the green zone.

  • Other Features: The device includes a Compression Counter to help you keep track of each cycle of 30 compressions and prompts you to give rescue breaths. It also has a Demonstration Mode (“How to Use”) that provides a brief on-screen tutorial of its functions.

3. App Features and Reports

  • The ileria mobile app acts as your main dashboard, allowing you to access key features and review performance data.

  • Devices Tab: This screen displays all the ileria CPR feedback devices that are registered to your account.

  • Reports Tab: This is where you can review performance data from all your synced CPR training sessions. The device can store up to 20 individual CPR session reports, which will automatically transfer to the app once connected.

4. Maintenance and Safety Information

  • Maintenance: After each training session, wipe the ileria CPR feedback device with a soft cloth lightly dampened with a 70% alcohol solution to keep it clean. Never immerse the device in water or hold it under running water.

  • Safety Warnings: This device is for training use only and should never be used on a human. If the device appears to malfunction, remove it immediately and continue with manual CPR.
